Literati Award for ICoN Member Regina Kim

ICoN is proud to announce that Professor Regina Kim has received this year’s prestigious Literati Award in the category « outstanding papers » for her publication « Hoping for the Best, Preparing for the Worst: Regulatory Focus Optimality in High and Low-Intensity Conflict » co-published in the International Journal of Conflict Management.  For the last 25 years, the Emerald Literati Awards have celebrated and rewarded the outstanding contributions of authors and reviewers, not only to our journals and books, but to the body of knowledge itself. Dr. Maximiliano MARZETTI

Assistant Professor of Law

PhD in Law & Economics (Erasmus Rotterdam University, the Netherlands)

Before joining IESEG’s permanent faculty Maximiliano practiced as a lawyer, mediator and intellectual property consultant in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and served as assistant director to the LLM in Intellectual Property co-organized by the University of Turin and the World Intellectual Property Organization in Turin, Italy. His research interests focus on transnational intellectual property dispute resolution and behavioral law and economics of ADR.

ICON members coach students at ICC Commercial Mediation Competition

IESEG and the Université Catholique de Lille Faculty of Law (FLD) have been jointly selected to participate in the prestigious 15th ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition from 6 to 12 February 2020 in Paris. This is a brilliant opportunity for our students to learn about international commercial mediation on a global stage and to network with world-class dispute resolution professionals. Two ICON members were selected, Frieder LEMPP and Maximiliano MARZETTI, to coach a team of four IBL Masters-level students. The student team members will be selected via the mediation seminars to be delivered by Frieder and Maximiliano at the FLD in early October.

Mediation in International Commercial and Investment Disputes

Our ICON member Calliope Sudborough has just published a chapter on the mediation of sovereign debt disputes in the new Oxford University Press volume « Mediation in International Commercial and Investment Disputes » edited by Catharine Titi and Katia Fach Gomez. The book « brings together a line-up of outstanding, highly-qualified experts from academia, mediation and arbitration institutions, and international legal practice, to address this highly topical, complex subject from a variety of angles. »
